Our History 

The course owes much of its character to the legendary course designer, James Braid.

It is highly regarded by the R&A being used as a final qualifying course for the Open Championship, when it is hosted by near neighbours, Royal Troon or Trump Turnberry.

The Club House

The Irvine Golf Club is located on the west coast of Scotland approximately twenty-five miles south of Glasgow in the heart of Ayrshire golf country. Today’s links was designed by James Braid and is sandwiched between the River Irvine and River Garnock in the Irvine Bay. Golf has been played in this area since the 17th century.

A championship links course, the Irvine Links has hosted final qualifying for the British Open and an array of amateur and professional golf tournaments and is steeped in history. A range of historic exhibits are displayed in the club including medals, trophies, equipment, and memorabilia.

Our meet and greet team offer our visitors a very warm welcome laying the foundations for a memorable experience at The Irvine Golf Club.
